Inga Sempe designed the Jour collection as a love letter to the traditional French glassware of bistros and country houses: honest forms, generous proportions, nothing precious. The decanter carries that spirit in handmade lead-free crystal.
It holds 28.75 ounces and stands 10.5 inches tall, with a circular stopper that feels made for the hand. Made in Turkey by Nude Glass, the contemporary design house of Sisecam. Handwash recommended, as with all good crystal.
Why it belongs
Decanting is theater, and the vessel is the stage. The Jour has the presence for a young Barolo and the restraint for an old Burgundy. Keep it on the bar cart where guests can see it; use it every night.
