How we decide what to cover, and how we cover it.

Napa Curator covers four things: private estates, tables, experiences, and craft. This is how we decide what earns coverage, and how we cover it.

Independent, always

Napa Curator accepts no payment for coverage. Features cannot be bought, and no advertiser sees a story before it publishes. Paid placements, if any, are always labeled.

Visited, or verified with the maker

We feature what we have seen in person, or what we have researched directly with the people behind it. The Napa Curator Verified seal is awarded only after an in-person verification visit.

Real photography only

Every image of a real place is real photography, credited to its maker. We never publish AI-generated images of real properties.

No invented anything

We publish no invented facts, quotes, scores, tastings, or claims of visits. If we were there, we say so. If we were not, we say that too.

Recommendations we would give a friend

Our standard is simple: we feature only what we would recommend to a friend without hesitation. Everything else does not make the journal.

When we miss, we correct: read our corrections policy.
