In Calistoga, at the quiet northern end of Napa Valley, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley sits in the middle of something no other Four Seasons can claim: its own working winery. Elusa, nearly five acres of estate vines planted more than two decades ago, wraps around the property, with a tasting room tucked beneath the resort’s main restaurant.
The winemaking carries serious weight. Jonathan Walden leads the cellar, working with consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, the winemaker behind Schrader and other Napa benchmarks, on Elusa’s expressive cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc. The wines pour across the resort: by the glass at TRUSS, in the private tasting room, and at the chef’s counter at Auro.
The dining follows the same logic. Auro, the resort’s fine-dining room, holds a Michelin star, the only one in Calistoga, with a seven-course tasting menu built on Napa Valley ingredients. TRUSS Restaurant and Bar handles the all-day brief: wood-fired cooking, a deep local wine list, and a terrace that fills at golden hour. The spa leans into the region too, with treatments built around Napa Valley mud, and the pool deck might be the calmest acre in wine country.
